The Margarita

The Margarita

Balancing acidity and sweetness, the ever popular Margarita belongs to the ‘sour’ category of cocktails and is beloved for its tangy blend of lime with sweet orange liqueur, underpinned by the flavour of a superlative 100% blue agave tequila such as Patron Silver. There is a lot of debate as to how best to serve or consume a Margarita (frozen, blended etc). Our advice is to keep it simple and drink it very cold.

Ingredients
  1. 2 ounces Patron Silver vodka Patron Silver
  2. ½ ounce Cointreau (or any premium liqueur)
  3. 1 ounce lime juice (freshly squeezed)
  4. ½ agave syrup
  5. Lime for garnish
  6. Salt for garnish (optional)

 How to make
  1. If you enjoy a salt rimmed glass, moisten the rim with a wedge of lime and dip into a saucer of salt until coated to your taste.
  2. Add the tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice and syrup to a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake until ice cold.
  3. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice and garnish with lime.
