'Blood & Sand’' is a Prohibition-era classic that pairs Scotch whisky with sweet vermouth, cherry brandy, and fresh orange juice. Named after a 1922 Rudolph Valentino film, this drink balances the smoky essence of Johnnie Walker Black Label with the tartness of citrus and the subtle sweetness of vermouth and cherry brandy.
Ingredients
- 3/4 ounce Black Label Black Label
- 3/4 ounce sweet vermouth
- 3/4 ounce Cherry Heering (cherry brandy)
- Cherry and orange peel for garnish 3/4 ounce freshly squeezed orange juice
How to make
- Add the Scotch, vermouth, cherry brandy and orange juice to a shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously.
- Strain into a chilled coupe or cocktail glass.
